TTG COLLECTIBLES.

At The Trading Gallery (TTG), Kris Yong has been a driving force behind the company’s conception, design, and ongoing evolution. From the initial stages of brand creation, visual identity, and digital launch, Kris played a hands-on role in establishing TTG as one of Vancouver’s most dynamic trading card and collectibles hubs. His leadership blends creativity, community development, and operational foresight transforming what began as a small local shop into a recognized cultural space for players, collectors, and creators alike.

Kris’s deep understanding of brand storytelling and market positioning has shaped TTG into more than just a retail space — it is a lifestyle brand. He personally led the design and rollout of TTG’s branding system, ensuring consistency across physical signage, online platforms, product packaging, and in-store experiences. His vision introduced signature slogans such as “Home is for sleep, TTG is for play” and “By those who play for real”, setting the tone for a brand that values authenticity, passion, and community.

A key aspect of Kris’s contribution lies in community building. Through strategic use of digital platforms, he established a Discord community that now exceeds 700 active members across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland a thriving hub where players organize tournaments, trade cards, and share local events. This channel has become the heart of TTG’s ecosystem, fostering engagement and loyalty that extends far beyond the retail environment.

Kris has also been instrumental in forging strategic partnerships with local businesses and organizations, weaving TTG into Vancouver’s broader cultural fabric. His collaborative initiatives with Royal Seoul House, Hustle Volleyball Club, Color Market, Top 147, Teaspoons & Co, and Idio Sound Lab reflect his belief in synergy between local entrepreneurship and creative expression. These partnerships have produced co-branded events, exclusive merchandise drops, and promotional campaigns that showcase TTG’s presence in the lifestyle and sports community.

Beyond marketing and community engagement, Kris continues to oversee operational strategies, staff development, and digital innovation — including TTG’s evolving e-commerce infrastructure and media presence through TTG.TV and the TTG Journal vlog series. His efforts have not only positioned TTG as a leader in the collectibles industry but have also helped cultivate a model where commerce, creativity, and community intersect.

Lastly, Kris has played a crucial role in the project management of website development (www.thetradinggallery.ca).

Through Kris’s direction, The Trading Gallery stands as both a business and a movement one that celebrates connection, culture, and play at its core.

CLUBHOUSE CODEX.

As the founder and creative director of Clubhouse Codex, Kris Yong brings together elements of lifestyle, design, and collectibility under a unified brand identity that blurs the line between art and culture. What began as a side project within The Trading Gallery ecosystem has since evolved into a distinct lifestyle and creative label, embodying Kris’s vision of how modern subcultures from sports to streetwear to creative communities can intersect within a single aesthetic language.

At Clubhouse Codex, Kris leads every stage of brand development, from concept and product design to creative direction and campaign execution. His design philosophy centers around the idea that each product tells a story whether it’s a collectible photo card, fashion accessory, or limited-run item, every release is curated to evoke emotion, nostalgia, and belonging. Under his direction, the brand has embraced a “collectors’ lifestyle” ethos, bridging the world of trading culture with modern street and athletic design.

Kris’s approach to brand storytelling has resulted in a growing following among creatives, athletes, and collectors who identify with Codex’s core ideals identity, ambition, and memory. He personally oversees product photography, visual design, and collaborative projects, ensuring every piece aligns with the brand’s narrative tone: minimal, mysterious, and meaningful.

One of Kris’s most notable initiatives is the “Gallery & Friends” program, which expands Codex beyond a product line into a network of local creators, athletes, and entrepreneurs. Through partnerships with collaborators across Vancouver and beyond, Clubhouse Codex serves as a platform for community representation, promoting unity between creative industries and local culture.

In addition to its lifestyle direction, Kris has positioned Clubhouse Codex as a creative R&D lab for cross-brand storytelling producing visual campaigns, digital lookbooks, and collectible concept series that often cross over with his other ventures such as The Trading Gallery and Yonaka Gallery. By aligning design and emotion, he has cultivated a brand identity that feels premium yet approachable one that resonates deeply with those who live at the intersection of play, passion, and personal expression.

Through Kris’s leadership, Clubhouse Codex continues to redefine what a lifestyle brand can represent not just fashion or collectibles, but a manifesto of creativity, collaboration, and culture.

YONAKA WORKSHOP.

As a partner and creative lead at Yonaka Gallery, Kris Yong helps bridge the worlds of automotive culture, design, and technology through a brand that celebrates the artistry of motion and sound. Rooted in the Japanese word “Yonaka” (夜中) meaning “midnight”, the brand embodies a nocturnal spirit a dedication to craftsmanship, individuality, and emotion after hours.

Under Kris’s creative direction, Yonaka Gallery has grown from a boutique idea into a specialty automotive and lifestyle studio, started for its flagship product: the Yonaka On-Start Melody Box. This unique innovation combines sound design, OLED display technology, and collectible artistry allowing drivers to personalize their vehicle’s ignition with custom Japanese-voiced startup melodies. Kris personally oversees product development, packaging, and international collaborations with voice actors, sound engineers, and designers in Japan, ensuring that every product captures an authentic balance of culture and engineering precision.

Beyond product design, Kris established Yonaka Workshop & Studio as a collaborative R&D branch dedicated to limited-run automotive accessories, aesthetic prototyping, and brand collaborations. The studio functions as both a workshop and creative lab — where experimental ideas in sound, lighting, and branding are tested before becoming full-scale products.

Kris’s vision for Yonaka extends beyond commerce. Through storytelling, photography, and curated digital campaigns, he has positioned the brand as a modern expression of Japan-inspired craftsmanship. The aesthetic direction, sleek, minimal, and emotive, reflects his belief that every product should feel like a piece of art, not just hardware.

By blending cultural authenticity, design thinking, and mechanical precision, Kris has helped define Yonaka Gallery as a forward-thinking lifestyle and automotive brand one that honors tradition while reimagining what personalization means for the next generation of car enthusiasts.
